Procedures to Place
Dentures
The first step in
placing dentures involves the removal of teeth. This
is done normally because teeth are damaged or have dead
roots and simply are no longer viable.
The next step in the
process of placing dentures is the fitting process by
a dentist who specializes in cosmetic dentistry, particularly
in dentures. The fitting process is extremely important.
Ill fitting dentures are painful and cause health problems
for a patient.
After the fitting
process is complete, the dentures themselves are fashioned
and created. In this regard, there are now outfits in
operation that maintain that they can provide same day
service on dentures. However, in most instances, a truly
qualified dentist that specialized in cosmetic dentistry
will tell you that it takes upwards to a week for dentures
to be fashioned and created in a dental laboratory.
Finally, the last
step in the process of placing dentures is the initial
placement of the dentures in a patient’s mouth by the
dentist specializing in cosmetic dentistry. Minor adjustments
to ensure a proper fit will be undertaken at this juncture.
Costs for Dentures
There is a significant
variation in the prices and costs associated with dentures.
There are some providers that maintain that they market
and sell dentures for as cheap as $95. (Chances are
there will be some proverbial “hidden charged” in such
a case. And, additionally, one would want to question
the quality of dentures that are selling for such a
cheap price.)
As with so many products
associated with cosmetic dentistry, the costs of dentures
can go from fairly reasonably priced products in the
several hundred dollar range upwards to dentures that
costs a few thousand dollars. The composition of the
materials that makeup the dentures will be the primary
factor in driving up the costs associated with dentures
in this day and age. |
